The project

The portal where airline passengers buy and redeem Wi-Fi at 35,000 feet, provided by Panasonic Avionics to airlines around the world. Behind a simple purchase flow sits a platform that has to work across fleets, airlines and payment setups, and the work laid the groundwork for what has since grown into Panasonic’s next-generation Wi-Fi Portal.

My part in it

Senior Fullstack developer building new passenger-facing features while gradually modernizing the codebase into a solid platform for the future. Since the app is served from the ground to aircraft in the sky, where latency and connection speed vary with the current satellite link, I drove the work to optimize speed and cut loading times, and built offline support with PWA technologies. I also helped establish a strong testing culture with Storybook, Jest, Cypress and Cucumber, and put a lot of energy into harmonizing the cooperation between the distributed development teams and Panasonic.
