The project
The public face and player identity for ARC Raiders, the extraction shooter from Embark Studios that went on to become a global blockbuster: 14 million copies sold and around 960,000 peak concurrent players, securing the studio’s future. I built the game’s marketing site at arcraiders.com, a statically generated Next.js site full of cinematic showcase moments, together with the frontend of Embark’s player ID platform: the server-side rendered web app where players sign up, log in, manage their accounts and link their platform identities across Embark’s games.
My part in it
Senior Frontend developer responsible for the architecture, development and testing of both applications. I set up the frontend architecture from scratch, built the animation and polish with Framer Motion that make the game showcase feel cinematic, established the end-to-end testing with Cypress, and worked closely with designers in Figma to hit a very high visual bar on a project where the studio’s public first impression was the whole point.
